Governor Ron DeSantis built a hit squad called FAFO. Florida Agency for Fiscal Oversight. CFO Blaise Ingoglia runs it, and they've been going into city and county budgets across Florida pulling the books and finding every dollar of waste, fraud, and abuse. Red counties. Blue counties. Nobody gets a pass.

So far they've done 18 audits across 17 cities and counties. And what they found is over $2.4 billion in wasteful spending. Straight out of your property taxes. And they've only looked at 17 places. There are 67 counties in Florida. You starting to see how big this is?

Last September, FAFO showed up in Orange County and told Mayor Jerry Demings his budget was wasting $190 million in property tax money. Jerry ignored it.

So FAFO came back. This May, the number wasn't $190 million. It was $300 million wasted. One county. One year. They didn't cut a dime after getting caught the first time. They actually increased the waste by over $100 million. That's not incompetence. That's arrogance. Since 2020, FAFO has found $747 million in wasted property tax money in Orange County alone.

But what are they actually spending your money on? That's the question DeSantis has been asking. And FAFO answered it.

Broward County spent $890,000 on DEI training since 2020. And not just any DEI training. They were pushing something called the “Genderbread Person” on their county employees. I wish I was making this up…👇🏼

Hillsborough County spent $572,000 on unconscious bias training. That's where they pay consultants to sit down with county employees and convince them they're secretly racist.

Orange County spent $240,000 on a left-wing DEI firm pushing something called fair and equitable property tax practices. That's a fancy way of saying take more from some property owners and give it to others based on race and income. Alachua County spent $31,000 on Planned Parenthood Teen Time designed for kids as young as 13. Your property taxes paid for that.

Jacksonville spent $1.9 million in grants to DEI-focused arts groups and $75,000 on a hologram of Mayor Donna Deegan welcoming people at the airport. A hologram. Of herself. Orlando spent $150,000 to help illegal immigrants evade deportation. And Pensacola is paying $150,000 a year to a management company that brings drag shows to the city theater. Every year.

This is not a revenue problem. It's a spending problem. They've been blowing your money on things that didn't even exist 10 years ago. And that's exactly why DeSantis's plan to end property taxes actually works. Because the money is already there. They just need to stop the waste. BREAKING NEWS: DeSantis just called a special Session on Property taxes for Monday June 1st! The goal is to get full property tax elimination for homestead homes on the November ballot before the August 1st deadline. It needs 60% of both chambers of the Florida Legislature to pass. Then in November it needs 60% of Florida voters to vote yes to change the state constitution permanently.
