Florida Stepping Up Big

Elevating Homes in Flood Zones

I hope you had a Merry Christmas with friends and family. I’m currently visiting my family in Michigan….. and it’s cold. 🥶…. 😂

Florida is finally getting some much-needed help! A new program called the Elevate Florida Initiative is stepping in to help homeowners fix their houses after floods caused major damage. It’s also working to make homes stronger, so they can better handle future storms. There’s a lot of homeowners that just got some disastrous news about their homes. You can watch the video here ➡️ [Click here to see what some homeowners are going through right now.]

What’s the Elevate Florida Initiative?

The program, offered by the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM), provides grants and low-interest loans to help homeowners elevate their homes, repair flood damage, and make properties more storm-resistant.

Here’s how it works:

Homeowners can apply for grants through the program to cover a significant portion of the costs for elevating or repairing their homes.

For the homeowner’s share of costs, low-interest loans are available, backed by the federal Small Business Administration (SBA).

The funding comes from approximately $2 billion in federal disaster relief funds, allocated after recent hurricanes hit Florida.

This is an important step toward rebuilding stronger communities and ensuring that Floridians are better prepared for future storms.

Why Is This Important?

Flooding has been a huge problem in Florida, especially in low-lying areas. Many families face overwhelming repair costs and rising insurance premiums. The Elevate Florida Initiative aims to ease these burdens, providing financial relief and promoting smarter, more resilient construction practices.

I haven’t made a video about this yet, but I’m working on one and will get it out as soon as I can. In the meantime, if you want to see what homeowners are going through right now, check out this video: [Click here to watch “THESE Florida Homeowners Are SCREWED.”]

Stay tuned for the video! If there’s anything else you’d like me to talk about, just let me know.
