I Found The Greatest City In America
Here's why I choose it
After spending 47 years in the same place, I knew it was time for a change. The long, cold winters and lack of sunshine were dragging me down, and my wife and I decided enough was enough. So we made the leap to Florida, and I want to share with you why I think St. Petersburg is the greatest city in America.
Here are the four reasons we made the move—and why you might want to consider it too:
1. Convenience is King
We were looking for a place where we could easily travel back to Detroit, where our family and properties are. With Tampa International Airport just 25 minutes from downtown St. Petersburg and a flight time of just over 2 hours from Detroit, it was a no-brainer.
On top of that, St. Pete is close to everything! We’re 25 minutes from downtown Tampa, 27 miles to Clearwater Beach, and 45 miles to Sarasota. Plus, we’ve got St. Pete Beach right in our backyard. If you value easy access to everything, St. Pete is where you want to be.
2. Development Brings Growth
St. Petersburg is booming with new developments, and that means jobs and opportunities. Tampa International Airport is expanding with a $1.5 billion project, and the Tampa Bay Rays are building a new $1.3 billion stadium in St. Pete as part of a larger $6 billion development.
This growth is creating thousands of construction jobs, and once these projects are completed, the people—and the economy—will follow. The area is even working on cutting-edge tech with the Advanced Air Mobility Program, which will introduce electric vertical takeoff aircraft for both passengers and cargo.
3. Real Estate is Hot
Living where people vacation means real estate is always in demand. Before moving, I did the "TikTok test" and was blown away by the beauty of St. Pete, Clearwater, and Tampa. The city is growing fast, and with all the development and demand, real estate here is set to appreciate for years to come.
For investors, this is a golden opportunity. We bought our home here expecting massive future appreciation, and with the way this city is expanding, that’s almost a guarantee.
4. Tourism Fuels Everything
Tourism is the lifeblood of the Tampa Bay area, driving the economy and ensuring continued development. In 2023, Tampa Bay’s hotel revenue surpassed $1 billion for the second year in a row, and tourism generates $9 billion annually for Hillsboro County alone.
This constant influx of visitors is why new restaurants, businesses, and attractions keep popping up. Plus, here’s a fun fact: St. Pete holds the Guinness World Record for the most consecutive days of sunshine—768 days! With odds like that, you’re almost guaranteed to enjoy sunshine every day.
St. Petersburg has it all—convenience, growth, real estate potential, and a booming tourism industry. If you’re considering a move, don’t make the mistake of swapping one slow city for another. Use these four factors to choose a city that’s growing and thriving!

P.S.
I need your help!! I have a new YouTube video coming out on Monday at 7 am and I can’t decide on the thumbnail to use. Take a look at the two below and vote for your favorite.
Here’s what happened. I found the best barber shop in St Petersburg Florida after searching for 16 months so I decided to make a video about it.
I moved down here from Detroit Michigan and I thought finding a barber would be easy. Boy was I wrong. I'm on my 6th Barber Shop!! Lucky for me, I’ve found two good ones I feel comfortable recommending to people.
If you're new to St Pete ... here visiting ... or just looking to make a change to keep your look tight. This video is for you! I would've given ANYTHING to have this video back when I first moved down here! Thats why I had to make it. (the video comes out on my YouTube page on Monday at 7am if you’re interested in watching it)
