Solar is a Rip Off In Florida
Read before you sign anything
If you live in Florida, you’ve probably had pushy salesmen knock on your door promising that rooftop solar will slash your electric bill and eventually pay for itself. Sounds great, right? Well, it could be a scam.

Here’s the truth—most people finance their solar system because who has $30,000 lying around? But that’s where they trap you. A solar loan at 6.99% interest means you’re paying $269 a month for 15 years—way more than most people’s electric bill. And by the time you’re done, you’ve shelled out $48,500 for something that won’t last forever.
And let’s talk about installations. These salesmen don’t work for the company installing your panels. They take their commission and disappear. If your roof starts leaking, good luck getting someone to fix it. Even worse? Some insurance companies drop you the second they find out you have solar panels.
Now, I get it—some people swear by solar. If you paid cash, got a brand-new roof first, and went with a legit company, maybe you’re happy. But if you got trapped in a loan, dealing with bad installers, or not saving what you were promised, you’re in big trouble. I’d love to hear from you. Has solar been worth it or a total nightmare? Let me know.
And if you want to see the full breakdown of why solar isn’t the money-saving dream they claim it is, check out my latest video. Over 19,000 people have already watched it. Watch here
