The BEST Deli in Florida

And my favorite sandwich

I absolutely love this deli and thought I’d share it with you. My wife and I stopped in again last week for a sandwich and an americano and I posted some pictures on my YouTube channel and I was shocked that more people hadn’t heard of this place.

Then I was playing pickle ball last night with my neighbor and the deli came up and he said he’d never heard of it either. And he lives here!!

The crazy part is, when I was moving to St Petersburg Florida from Michigan 2 years ago a family friend named Mary who is Italian told me I need to make sure I eat at Mazarro’s! She knew about it 1500 miles away! lol.

Mazzaro’s Italian Market in St Pete is the absolute best Deli in Florida! They got 4.8 stars on Google Maps with over 8,300 reviews! If you’re ever out this way you gotta try it. But I will warn you….its always packed and it can be a little overwhelming if you don’t know what you're doing. So I’ll break it down for you.

Waiting to place my sandwich order at the deli counter.

  1. Don’t get overwhelmed. There are a ton of people that come here everyday. It’s always busy. Just prepare for it. They own about 3 buildings in a row so you’ll be able to find parking. You may have to circle the lot or park on the street. Don’t park illegally though, cause thats not cool.

  2. Go to the website: https://mazzarosmarket.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Mazzaros-Italian-Market-Lunch-Menu.pdf and pick your sandwich. They also have the menu behind the counter when you go in person up on a big board and you can decide then. **But do not pull a number until you know what you are going to order.

  3. Now, take a number at the deli counter when you know what you want. They go really fast so once you pull your number theres no time to lolly gag. When they call your number tell them, “I’ll take a #24!”

  4. There are a ton a places to eat both inside and out at Mazzaro’s so choose your spot. But if you know me, I love Americano’s (coffee). So at this point my wife or I will head over to the coffee bar and grab a seat. And the other will wait in line for the sandwiches. If you haven’t guessed by now, my favorite is the #24 corned beef Ruben! I also grab a bag of salt and vinegar chips and sit up at the coffee bar and we eat our lunch.

  5. After that incredible, lunch I’ll order an American and the people watching can begin! Make sure you save the wrappers from your sandwiches because the waitress at the coffee bar will use it to cash you out. You can pay right there.

  6. WARNING** You can pay with a credit card at the coffee bar but you can only tip in cash! Crazy right. So make sure you bring some cash to tip the waitresses slinging coffee.

  7. And Congratulations! You’re now a Mazzaro’s PRO!

Here’s the coffee bar

Americano is the nectar of the god’s…or it should be 🤤☕️

Monika and I chillin at the coffee bar. No big deal..

Just an FYI Mazzoro’s didn’t sponsor this newsletter and they have no idea I’m writing about them. It’s just a really cool experience and the deli sandwich is fantastic so I don’t want you to miss it next time you're in St Pete. Or if you live here.

Have you been to Mazzoro’s or do you have a deli in Florida you think is even better? (I’m not sure if thats possible, but you can try 😉) Shoot me an email back and let me know. I’ll add it to my places to try in Florida.

Thanks,

Grant Warrington
